German magazine BMX Rider latest issue features an interview with Stefan Lantschner. Pictures were taken in Barcelona, Bozen, Milan and Verona.
There is something special to say about the shot in Verona: after having waited for the town to go to sleep and the streets to be empty, Stefan climbed down a rope into the hole of ancient bridge Ponte Pietra on Adige river. With the same rope, crew members lowered his BMX, and Stefan began to ride the giant full pipe. Some tourists noticed the flashes coming from the bridge, but Stefan was lucky enough to climb up after a short session, without getting caught by the police.
Ponte Pietra is a Roman arch bridge, completed in 100 BC. The arch nearest to the right bank of the Adige was rebuilt in 1298, while four arches of the bridge were blown up during World War II, but rebuilt in 1957 with original materials.
